外文摘要 | This study uses literature analysis to organize relevant literatures and foreign cases, through questionnaire to survey the current situation of public libraries in Taiwan Taipei and librarians' cognitive of dyslexia, and to interview the parents of the children with dyslexia in depth to realize their experiences and needs. The people who have physically disabilities are the main group which public library disabilities services provide for and the lack of space is the most important reason that can’t provide disability services. The library environment is the highest score in the five dimensions, and the librarian training ranks only fourth, which should be enhanced by elevating professional abilities. The most likely service to be implemented in the future is to promote knowledge about dyslexia. The internet and the social media are the major channels for the librarians to obtain “dyslexia” information. Most librarians are not sure whether they have served dyslexic readers, and they need to be actively informed by the readers so they can provide them suitable services. Most of Librarians have a conservative attitude to knowing about dyslexia. According to this study, they are less unaware of the characteristics of dyslexia and most of them agree with providing services for children with dyslexia in the future in public libraries. Also, they believe that the lack of relevant professional knowledge matters the most. The parents obtain dyslexia information via media inadvertently. They think that there are fewer books related to dyslexia in public libraries, and the internet is the mainly access to information of dyslexia. Borrowing and returning make the majority interaction between them and librarians. Afraid of affecting the order in libraries, the willing of taking children there generally decreases. They think that school libraries and bookstores are easier to find suitable books for children to read, which related to children's living experience. Pictorial collections are the most common type to be used, and multimedia collections are just the opposite. According to the findings, several practical suggestions are posed below. In order to encourage librarians to participate in continuing education for librarians course to enhance their understanding of dyslexia, public libraries can start at purchasing some kinds of relevant collections and then use a variety of channels to promote relevant knowledge, cooperate with professional institutions to enhance service expertise. The similar living circumstances usually resonate with the children and this can be designed in the public library services in the future. It is recommended that public libraries should be set up special areas to avoid the willing of children visiting libraries decrease due to order factor. The service is based on providing for children, and then expanding the target to children who have dyslexia and offering more professional services and collections. |
