Each session is a four-week continuing education class. Everything is
done online. These are basic classes designed not only for brand new
librarians, but also for experienced librarians who want to update
their skills. The classes include online chats, but they are
optional. ALCTS sends a certificate to students who complete the
assignments successfully.
We encourage librarians from developing countries to submit their
applications as soon as possible. TO APPLY, YOU MUST USE THE WEB FORM
AT THE FOLLOWING LINK CREATED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS AWARD PROGRAM:
http://alctsprogram.wufoo.com/forms/alcts-web-course-offering-applicatio...
The due date for each course is two months in advance of that courses
start date (e.g. the due date for course starting on the 15th of March
2009 is the 15th of January 2009, etc.). Please note, however, that
an exception is made for sessions scheduled in February 2009. The
deadline for February 2009 courses is January 9, 2009.
All applications will be reviewed according to eligibility and
required criteria. E-mail acceptance will be sent to a successful
applicant at least two weeks prior to the beginning of an online course.
