Call for Proposals and Papers
The ALIRG Workshop--previously known as the Taiwan-Singapore-Thailand Workshop on Library & Information Research—is a collaborative effort among LIS researchers and educators in Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, India, and the Philippines, to promote research collaboration in LIS in Asia as well as networking among PhD students. The Workshop is affiliated with the Consortium of iSchools Asia-Pacific (CiSAP).
The ALIRG 2015 Workshop will be held just before the A-LIEP 2015 Conference in Manila (http://www.a-liep.com/).

Objectives
The objectives of the Workshop are:
· To initiate and carry out regional collaborative research projects
· To establish and nurture regional library and information research groups
· To obtain expert feedback on current research studies
· To provide an opportunity for PhD students to network, and to obtain feedback on their research, through a PhD symposium.
Venue
The Workshop be held at Rizal Library, Ateneo de Manila University. The exact location will be announced later.
Target Participants & Registration
The 1½ -day Workshop is free to registered participants and is open to:
§ Faculty, researchers and graduate students of LIS schools in Asia
§ Faculty, researchers and graduate students of CiSAP member institutions
Participants are expected to take care of their own travel, accommodation, meals and living expenses in Manila.
As the number of participant places is limited, registration priority will be given to the authors of accepted proposals and papers.
Call for Proposals and Papers
Participants can take part in the Workshop in the following ways:
1. Propose a project for regional research collaboration
2. Report an ongoing or completed regional research collaboration, and hold working group meetings with collaborators
3. Explore and participate in new or existing collaborative projects
4. For graduate students: present research proposal, or ongoing or completed research project.
Proposal/paper submissions must be sent by email to: alirgworkshop@gmail.com
Submission deadline: 30th August 2015
All proposals, papers and presentations must be in English.
Proposal/paper submissions to the Workshop are divided into three tracks, with specific instructions below. Please specify the Track of your submission in the email header.
Track A. Research project proposal for regional collaboration
In the proposal, please specify:
· Title of project:
· Name of author/proposer:
· Institutional affiliation:
· Country:
· Existing collaborators:
· Number of collaborators sought:
· Abstract (max 500 words):
· Project description (1-5 pages, or 500-2,500 words). This should outline how the collaborators are expected to contribute to the project
Authors may submit multiple proposals.
Track B. Report of collaborative research project (ongoing or completed)
In the report, please specify:
· Title of project:
· Name of principal investigator & institutional affiliation & country:
· List of existing collaborators & affiliations:
· Whether the project is open to more collaborators:
· Abstract (max 500 words):
· Project report (4-8 pages, or 2000-4000 words).
Track C. PhD Symposium -- research proposal or report by a graduate student
Graduate students (PhD students as well as Master’s students) are invited to submit a short paper of 4-8 pages (2000-4000 words) words, which may be:
· C1. A research proposal
· C2. Report of a pilot study
· C3. Report of results from a research project
